Understanding the New Safety Valve Compliance in China
Effective July 1, 2026, the TSG 92-2026 regulation has become the mandatory standard for pressure vessel safety valves. For international companies importing Chinese pressure equipment, understanding these media selection rules is critical for project audit and site safety.
Media Selection Criteria: The Two Strict Rules
According to the latest TSG standards, valve type selection is no longer optional based on cost, but mandatory based on media properties:
- Full Lift Safety Valves (Mandatory): Required for compressible media including Gas, Steam, LNG, and any liquid media where the temperature exceeds its boiling point.
- Low Lift Safety Valves (Permitted): Only allowed for pure liquid systems such as water, oil, or glycol pipelines where rapid volume expansion is not a risk.

Critical Risk Alert for Cryogenic LNG Systems
Engineers should note that straight DA-series low-lift valves no longer comply with LNG storage standards. Shanghai Xiazhao Valve provides L-shaped full lift designs specifically engineered to meet TSG 92-2026 and GB/API 526 standards.
